Connecting the Clouds to Create Huge Value

There are so many cloud vendors existing in the market which are providing their cloud infrastructure, platform and different services in a polished way to their customers, but the real problem is that all these cloud vendors are independently store their data on their data centers and which is the cause of increasing storage of duplicate data on multiple clouds. Taking an example to explain this concept, consider one Video is recorded for some Television program and it has been hosted on one particular cloud, now the same video gets uploaded on multiple clouds by the users or views of that video and this may take GB’s of space for a single video which is of size in MB’s. It has been proposed that creating a platform which will create different clouds will be a fantastic thing and will surely solve many problems faced by individual cloud vendors and data centers.

Collaboration trends in 2015

Working collaboratively in an organization is very common phenomenon and companies irrespective of size needs to have some platform on which their employees will communicate with each other. There are few trends that have been observed in the collaboration which will drive the businesses in 2015 which are as follows:
  •               Many of the employees work in distributed teams or even independently so this is one of the aspect to be considered in collaboration platforms.
  •        It has also been observed that many individuals are associated with more than one project, so distributed teamwork is also required.
  •             Many people from the organization spend substantial amount of time in meetings and meetings are based on the metrics.
  •       Technology used to get the feedback of all the meetings with the team members is not used sufficiently and it needs to be used collaboratively.
  •        Collaboration tool will increase the quality of outcomes coming out of the meetings and every team member will be updated on the minutes of meetings.
  •       Almost 2/3rd of the companies using collaboration software are not happy with their support for distributed feature.
  •       Many of the employees do not use most of the features of collaboration software.
  •        Limiting context switching for different collaborative functions will help in increasing the productivity.

Importance of Big data in healthcare

Almost a decade ago there was no digital system or digital technology which will show the patient data using the tracking device and which will be helpful to diagnose the disease and will link between causes and symptoms. Now we see there are so many devices such as wearable devices e.g. digital wrist band to collect the data of an individual and technology which will be used to store and process this data to provide actionable insights to the doctors or patients so that they can take further decisions based on the data. This has helped so many doctors in diagnosing the complicated diseases as well as reducing the number of deaths caused by the medical error which was never been possible before. Most of the hospitals are now using big data/Hadoop systems in-house to leverage the technology benefits for the patients and also to reduce the burden on the nurses and doctors in physically monitoring every patient.

Mobile apps open to pre-launch on Google Play store

Google took a one step further in order to compete with the apple app store by launching their new service of pre-launching the apps on Google Play store. Now App developers will be able to pre-launch the application even when their app is not ready to roll out, similar to the concept of movie trailer. Though this feature will lead to easy entry for malware in the app store but Google always been lenient about the verification of the Apps as compared to that of the Apple. This feature will surely help many developers and companies to promote their brand in advance to actual launch and would be a better choice for marketing on Google play store.

CountainerShip making infrastructure portable with Cloud

ContainerShip being a disruptive startup helping many companies to deploy their containerized application on Cloud with ease. It’s been a very difficult job for developers to more their complete infrastructure from one cloud to another but  ContainerShip made it easy as they take this work on their shoulders and make developers feel comfortable about deployment of their application on cloud. This is an alternative service to what Docker provides but the only difference is that Docker is an open source platform and more focused on developing the distributed application development community.

2015 a year for wearable technology

India observes the world and then takes steps in technology adaptation and never takes risks in exploring new technologies. Similarly for wearable device market was developed in US and Europe and now being explored in India . Technology companies are now doing well with the help of wearable technology, so now its time for India to explore this new technology market.
Health and Fitness, entertainment and luxury are the areas these wearable technology companies focusing on to gain the attention of new customers. Tracking the vital signs of the human body being the most critical  task performed by these devices now a days and which has caused basic digital healthcare services available to many people. Measuring BP , sleep, heart rate and health statistics was never thought of can be measured so easily without doing anything.
There are many small #startups in  in India who have developed the digital wrist band to track health details of individual and which is connected with the mobile application using Bluetooth technology for its functioning. #Fitbit being the leader in wearable technology or in activity tracker market to be specific in the world . Recently #Xiomi MI also launched their wrist band in India at very low price. Now its time for the Indian player to enter the market #Micromax owned #YU launched two activity tracker devices in India with two price ranges and will surely be a big opportunity for them to penetrate the emerging market. Will be good to see in future some more Indian players like to come up with such products with more innovation involved.

Smart watch VS wearable devices( activity tracker devices)

Though smart watches being a major threat to the activity tracker devices or wearable devices such as  fitness wristband, smart garment etc. But the market of wearable device is predicted to be rising in future because many people are being fitness freak and also these devices can also be used to track many other parameters such as diet , sleep, health related parameters such as BP ,heart beats etc.
Fitbit being a leader in activity tracker devices with gaining 68% market share as compared to competitors such as pebble, Jawbone, Misfit etc. and the they have large range of wearable products ranging from $50 to $250. Talking about the threat smart watches creating to these activity tracker devices I think price will be the deciding factor, as smart watches are launched by most of the big technology players like apple, LG, Samsung and many watch companies and they are pouring lot of mony into the r&d and innovation of these products so they will charge a premium price for these innovative products and compared to these wristbands are available from price as low as $20 in the market, and also talking about the functioning of both of these devices is majorly controlled by  the smartphone by communication it with an application, so the more the features built in more will be price of the device. I am still hopeful to see a new wearable device application development platform other than android or iOS in future which will take this complete segment of wearable devices independent from the smartphone segment.

Wearable devices ecosystem built in progress

#Wearable device technology is the current trend in technology devices and I think as the various #mobile operating systems evolved after the success of mobile devices in the market, wearable devices will also have their separate ecosystem build over a time. Though these devices are currently getting operated or synchronized with the mobile phones, but its not something impossible in future to get the wearable device independent of mobile connectivity. Apple watch a breakthrough innovation in the wearable devices segment will surely get its ecosystem built by the strong #technology systems such as #Fiksus.

Cloud Foundry: An Open source platform for Cloud

IBM started the revolution in software industry by starting selling the hardware & software in a bundled package and that was the starting point for many software service companies came into business and also many software platforms got created during those days one of which was the Cloud open source platform, which was one of the first open source PaaS platform. Making Cloud an open source platform let many technology enthusiasts to share their knowledge in driving the growth of the Cloud technology and which is the key driver of the success of cloud. Many startups, ISV’s and even large organizations are now-a-days talking about their cloud work and their offerings. Eventually many such platforms came into existence which are led by the users and getting success in the technology space, one of the notable example of this is twitter.

Dirty data creating problems in Marketing

Dirty data is the data which is not trusted one or not authentic in nature, so it’s not a good approach to rely completely on such data for business operations. Taking example of sales operation wherein primary stage is the suspect database building and this needs to be perfect in order to approach them for sales. It’s very difficult job to the email ids and contact numbers of suspects who can be your probable customers in future from the internet as there is so much data available on the internet and it’s very difficult to trust on one particular source as very few are trusted ones. There can be multiple profiles of same person available on the internet and all of them looks to be alike, so it’s a difficult job to choose the trusted or verified data from this data pool. There are ways to get the trusted data but these ways are very expensive for a small company.

Enterprise Collaboration through social integration

Intranet portals should depict the culture of the organization, initially intranet portals were serving the only purpose of static content management for the employees but now the integration of Social tools to intranet created the myth that intranet will die after social integration but this don’t look to be the case till now. Social intranet portals becoming more and more dynamic in nature and serving the essential purpose of collaboration for the organization. Employees look for four attributes from the intranet portals:
  1.      Communication-centric
  2.     Self-service-centric
  3.     Collaboration-centric
  4.    Information workplace

I think every employee want to enjoy their social life along with the regular work and I think social tools are the best medium to share the information which is relevant to particular organization. The ultimate aim of intranet portal is to improve the day-to-day working experience of employees.

Enterprise Mobility becoming curtail for companies

There are two major reasons why companies hesitate to go mobile for their enterprise solutions: Some of the companies don’t know from where to start and how to start and second is that some companies believe that the transition to mobile would be difficult. There are three trends that every company should consider before adopting the mobile strategy 1) Cyber Security because BYOD causing major security problems as it is very difficult to distinguish the private and public work, 2) Industrial Applications: Need for industrial application is growing because mobile applications are bringing the partners, customers and employees closer. 3) Contextual and Actionable Data: Providing actionable data to employees on mobile will increase their productivity.
